Kite Surfing

FROM £105

The Kenya coast is undeniably one of the best places in the world to learn to kiteboard. Shallow, warm, reef-protected water, perfect side shore winds and lots of beach to make your learning experience fantastic!

Our friendly instructors will make sure your experience is both fun and safe. It typically takes a few days to teach you the basics and get you up and riding across the Turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. It’s not as hard as it looks but definitely as cool as it looks!!

How to book:

Once you’ve decided which country you want to go to and how long you want to stay for you can start thinking about adding on an adventure! You don’t have to limit yourself to just one so check out all the options.  You can book an adventure at the same time as booking your volunteer programme or at a later date by phone or email.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THE COURSE?

Trainer Kite: Everyone learns to kiteboard starting with a trainer kite on the beach. In this programme we teach you all the right techniques to avoid bad habits right from the start. You will learn kite control, launching and landing, flying in a harness, one-handed flying, and simulations so that you are ready for the water.

Into the water: During this phase of the course you will learn water launching, body dragging (sounds terrible but actually great fun), board control and how to tack the kite. In addition you will learn the all-important skills associated with self-rescue in order that you are fully prepared for any eventuality.

Up and riding: Once you have all the basics under your harness, it’s time to get up on the board and riding across the Indian Ocean. You will be amazed at how easy and addictive this sport is.
