Volunteer in Ecuador - Camp Ecuador

South America has always been top of the list for independent travellers and Ecuador guarantees a once in a lifetime volunteer experience for you. This amazing country really does have it all and is definitely South America’s best-kept secret! Nowhere on Earth can you experience so much natural beauty and diversity, and all the excitement that comes with it, in such a small place!  Ecuador boasts abundant wildlife viewing and startling contrasts of scenery, from misty tropical cloud forests and windswept highlands, to snow-capped volcanoes and palm-fringed beaches, and all within a day’s drive of the capital, Quito.

"With Camps International you have a lot of freedom inside and outside the programme, at weekends volunteers are encouraged to explore the local area and have fun. There were so many unforgettable highlights; snorkeling with sea lions and alongside giant turtles was unreal."

Volunteering in Ecuador is a rewarding experience and filled with adventure. You’ll be living and working alongside wonderful local people in the Andes, Amazon and along the Pacific coast. Many of the people we work with are living in poverty and don’t have access to proper education facilities, or the mean to generate enough income to support their families. Your help is desperately needed and will be hugely appreciated.

Many of our programmes also involve working on a range of vital wildlife conservation and environmental projects in some of the world’s most important and fragile ecosystems. These range from Ecuador’s cloud forest, which is home to spectacled bears, the stunning Pacific Ocean where you may be lucky enough to see humpback whales, and the mighty Amazon rainforest, home to around 10% of all species on Earth!

If that isn’t enough to keep you busy, you can add an adventure activity to your volunteer experience. Why not visit the world-famous Galapagos Islands for the ultimate wildlife experience? There are also opportunities to book, scuba diving, white water rafting or a trek of the mighty Cotopaxi, one of the tallest mountains in the world.
