South America has always been top of the list for independent travellers and Ecuador guarantees a once in a lifetime volunteer experience for you. This amazing country really does have it all and is definitely South America’s best kept secret! It may one of the continent’s smallest countries but it’s offerings are astounding. Nowhere on Earth can you experience so much natural beauty and diversity – and all the excitement that comes with it – in such a small place. It offers its visitors abundant wildlife viewing and startling contrasts of scenery, from misty tropical cloud forests and windswept highlands, to snow-capped volcanoes and palm-fringed beaches, and all within a day’s drive of the capital, Quito.
Volunteer in Ecuador - Camp Ecuador
Volunteering in Ecuador is a rewarding experience and filled with adventure. You’ll be living and working alongside wonderful local people in the Andes, Amazon and along the Pacific coast on a wide range of initiatives designed to help improve living standards within their community. Many of the people we work with are living in poverty and don’t have access to proper education facilities, or the means to be able to generate enough income to support their families, so your help is desperately needed.
This volunteer experience also involves working on a range of vital wildlife conservation and environmental projects in some of the world’s most important and fragile ecosystems. These include Ecuador’s cloud forest which is home to spectacled bears, the stunning Pacific ocean, where you may be lucky enough to see humpback whales, and the mighty Amazon rainforest, home to around 10% of all species on Earth! Working on several different projects during your time with us gives you the chance to benefit more than one area and see more of the country and it’s amazing people.
And if that isn’t enough to keep you busy, you can add an adventure activity to your volunteer experience. Why not visit the world-famous Galapagos Islands for the ultimate wildlife experience? Or maybe try your hand at white water rafting down the Rio Napa? Or climb the mighty Cotopaxi, one of the tallest mountains in the world? Well now’s your chance to do something extraordinary! So, what are you waiting for...
