Kenya is a really popular choice for a gap year experience because it has so much to offer; world-class beaches, abundant wildlife, jaw-dropping scenery, and some of the warmest and friendliest people you are ever likely to meet.
From vast open savannahs and deserts to beautiful coral reefs; equatorial rainforests to mighty snow-capped mountains, the sheer diversity and beauty of Kenya offers you limitless opportunities to explore and get a true taste of Africa, away from the well trodden backpacker route.
Volunteering in Kenya is an extremely rewarding experience. You’ll be living and working alongside local people on a wide range of initiatives designed to help improve living standards within their community. Many of the people we work with are living below the poverty line and don’t have access to proper education facilities, medical treatment or even clean drinking water, so your help is desperately needed. You will work on several different projects during your time with us, giving you the chance to benefit more than one area and see more of the country and it’s amazing people.
Our environmental and wildlife conservation projects are equally important to us, so you’ll also help protect fragile ecosystems for the benefit of the incredible wildlife that you’ll see. You’ll work in the heart of a private wildlife sanctuary that is home to elephants, cheetahs, lions and buffalos as well as going on an awesome safari; undoubtedly one of the perks of volunteering in Kenya!
And if that isn’t enough to keep you busy, you can add an adventure activity to your volunteer experience. Ever fancied learning to scuba dive or kitesurf? Or maybe climb one of Africa’s tallest mountains? Well now’s your chance! So, what are you waiting for...
