Since Borneo is surrounded by beautiful beaches, coral reefs and tropical waters it is a diving enthusiasts dream. It boasts one of the top 5 dive sites in the world with Sipadan off the East coast but there are plenty of other locations. We conduct basic diving qualifications and dives from either Mantanani Island or in Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park off Kota Kinabalu. Depending on what itinerary you book on will depend where we will take you diving. Here are some highlights and outline details of what we offer – if you would like more details please contact us.

PADI Open Water Qualification:

The PADI OPEN WATER DIVER course is the entry course for all future diving activities and therefore internationally recognised as the most important beginner course. You will learn in 5-7 days (which includes 6 theory sessions, 5 confined water sessions & 4 open water dives with your instructor) all the important information and practical skills you will need to become internationally certified.

The completion of this course allows you to hire equipment, dive either with your partner or under guidance and join further courses to get specialized in different areas of Scuba Diving everywhere in the world. This is your chance to learn this amazing sport in the tropical warm and & clear waters off the Borneo coast.

This course is conducted in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park just off Kota Kinabalu and is available as adventure add-on, outside of your planned itinerary with us since it takes 4 to 6 days to complete.

The cost of this course is £270.

This costs includes all instruction, learning material, diving equipment and PADI registration. Typically the course takes between 4 to 6 days depending on your abilities.

PADI Advanced Diver

The ADVANCE OPEN WATER DIVER is your opportunity to obtain more in depth information & experience the wide variety of Scuba Diving.

In this 3-4 day course we will give you a short “refresher” in your already learned knowledge to bring you “up to date”, before you will gain more information in 5 new special areas. Choose between deep diving, UW navigation, drift diving, night diving, fish aware/identification, UW naturalist, search & recovery, UW photography, boat diving and peak performance buoyancy control.

This course can be conducted on either Mantanani Island or Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park.

For those of you booked on a Camp Borneo 2 or 3 package you will obtain the Open Water qualification as part of your itinerary. Therefore you may want to take your diving a step further. During your time on Mantanani you will have sufficient spare time to squeeze in your Advanced Diver course – there is no need to do it outside the itinerary. It will be done in the sea off Mantanani.

For everyone else who is booked on a Camp Borneo 1 package or any of our Life or Team packages, you may conduct your Advanced Diver in Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. This will be as additional add-on to your existing itinerary and outside of those dates.

Both locations cost the same - £200.

This price includes all instruction, learning materials, diving equipment and PADI registration. The course can be done over 2 to 3 days typically.

Additional Dive Packages

After completing your Open Water or Advanced qualification you may want to extend your experience and make the most of your surroundings by conducting some extra dives. Again these dives can be conducted in two locations, Mantanani Island or Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, depending on which package you are booked with us.

For those on Camp Borneo 2 or 3 packages, these can be booked in advance or whilst on your Marine Awareness Programme. The dives include all equipment and will be in the local area of Mantanani Island.

For those of you on all other packages (Camp Borneo 1, all Life or Team itineraries) you conduct additional dives in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. This is convenient for Kota Kinabalu, meaning you can dive and relax on the beach during the day and then enjoy the sights and sounds of the city at night.

Both locations cost the same and can be purchased in blocks of dives as follows:

• 3 dives = £60
• 5 dives = £90
• 10 dives = £170

All dives include transfer to the dive site by boat, all equipment, safety briefings and are accompanied dives. Please note that these packages do not include any accommodation and may be subject to change at the last minute due to weather conditions.
