Amongst these pages you will only find experiences that enhance your own life and create a better life for the indigenous peoples and wildlife that act as host to us in Africa and Asia. It’s a simple ethos, but one that we all believe very passionately in.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You get back what you put in.

 

Our aim is to provide you with travel experiences that are fulfilling, that open your eyes to another world and put a smile not just on your face, but the faces of people less fortunate than ourselves.

 

 

The easy option is rarely the best option.

 

You don’t need any special skills, just an enthusiasm for life and a willingness to open your eyes to unfamiliar surroundings, different cultures and personal challenge. We want you to board the return flight home feeling very different to how you did when you came out.

 

Community Life:

 

We operate our Community Life programmes from our own camps in Kenya and Borneo.

 

Camp Makongeni, Kenya - Is the flagship location for our Life programme and the first camp we built. Named after the community alongside whom we work, Camp Makongeni was designed and constructed by our team.

 

Kampung Kipouvo, Borneo - Provides accommodation within a house which is within the community itself. The house has been adapted slightly to ensure your comfort but otherwise is part of the make up of the village. This will enable you to become part of the community during your stay as opposed to purely a tourist and outsider.

 

We offer stays of 1 week to 1 month throughout the year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ocean Life:

 

Diving has long been a favourite amongst our team and our volunteers. East Africa and Asia boast some of the top dive spots in the world, see anything from colourful reef fish to enormous whale sharks. If you like getting wet take a look at our PADI Scuba packages.

 

 

Wild-Life:

 

East Africa is home to over one-quarter of Africa’s wild animals. Many of our trips include game viewing and you can always add more days in the National Parks and Reserves.

 

Our wildlife camp in Borneo takes you to the community of Batu Puteh on the mighty Kinabatangan River, along its banks is home to a plethora of animals, insects and communities. The community of Batu Puteh has developed a mini eco tourism project here and as well as developing this they are working hard to preserve and re-generate a nearby forest reserve. We provide opportunities to work on conservation projects as well as our safaris to the best wildlife areas in the world.

 

Mountain Life:

 

We have several keen mountaineers in the team so we know what we are talking about when it comes to trekking. We have included treks to Mt Kenya, Kilimanjaro & Mt Kinabalu as our experience has been that many people choose to challenge themselves on these mountains at important stages of their life. In our opinion there are few better places on earth that provide such an inspiring environment. Be warned there is a high chance that you may have different view of life after you step off the mountain.

 

 

 

 

How will I make a difference?

 

We have been shortlisted 4 years running for the World Responsible Travel Awards, winning a highly commended award in 2008 for 'best volunteering organisation'. You can expect to spend your stay working on a wide range of initiatives where you really will make a difference. You achieve this by working on a diverse range of local humanitarian, social and environmental projects that we have developed in partnership with the local communities under expert guidance. This gives you the opportunity to make a real difference through your financial and physical contributions. We also hope that you will come away as educated ambassadors for the critical issues facing conservation and community development.
