Ocean
It is no mistake that the majority of our camps are located on or near the coast. The Indian Ocean and beaches are among the most spectacular in the world and feature in nearly all our itineraries.
We do water sports in a big way and collectively have over 20 years experience running scuba diving operations in Kenya. We organise everything from a quick try dive to career courses as either an addition or integral part of a trip.
It has been a slog, but every year our marine conservation programme grows and with it our achievements in helping to conserve the coral reefs.
Simple beach clean-ups achieve an enormous amount and go a long way to educate the future generations of Kenya as to the real value of their marine eco-system.
The social element of our programmes is something we also pride ourselves on and believe strongly in the work hard play hard ethos.
There is no backdrop that competes with an Indian Ocean beach at low tide with a warm breeze and clear skies.
Most of all I felt humbled at the generosity, dignity and hospitality that I found in and from the people around the project where I worked. These are people who have very little materially and work very hard to make ends meet and yet there is a joy and a friendliness that it is hard to find in my home environment in London.
