Raising the roof at Mantanani

Just like our Kindergarten project at Camp Tinangol, the Kindy at Camp Mantanani has reached that stage where it needs a hat. Something to protect it from the elements… and given the number of storms that have rumbled past Mantanani recently, the sooner the better!

So, with the help of the Camp Mantanani Staff, the September Gappers and some of the Camp Tinangol Staff for some extra support, Aida and Albi have started to raise the roof, as it were.

Just like at Tinangol, the Mantanani Kindy will cater for the island’s under 7s as well as give space to other groups within the community who wish to use it. As there is no power on the island during daylight hours, the building has been designed by our friends at Arkitrek to make best use of the prevailing winds to cool the building as well as be an interesting environment for the kids to learn and play.

So after the terrific work of our Summer Season school teams over the past few months it’s great to see the work continuing apace. Keep coming back to see how we progress.
