PADI Scuba Diving Course: Experience the wonder of diving in warm tropical waters and coral reef, surrounded by brilliantly coloured tropical fish and a chance to see turtles, dolphins and whale sharks by challenging yourself to undertake a PADI Open Water Diving course, the most widely recognised and respected diving course in the world. Upon successful completion you will have the freedom to dive with a buddy, independent of a professional, almost anywhere in the world! Working at our certified resort centre you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including equipment and techniques, before completing a number of pool and open water dives. If you are already Open Water certified it may be possible to organise a more advanced course for you and there are plenty of alternative activities for those of you that don’t want to take part.

Mountain adventure

Our school expeditions are open for anyone aged 15 – 18 with the ambition to take on a real challenge. You don’t need to be an academic genius or a sports gladiator; all we ask for is loads of enthusiasm, a good sense of humour and a desire to succeed. For one-month your feet won’t touch the ground as you take part in an exciting, life-changing experience on your expedition with Camps International.

Jungle trek: Challenge yourself to trek in some of the most stunning scenery this magical island has to offer. You will spend up to 5 days trekking in pristine tropical jungle that is steeped in folklore and legends, seeing the impact of oil palm plantations on the environment and experiencing poignant memorials to WWII soldiers. During your jungle phase you will receive basic jungle training, teaching you skills such as how to put up a shelter, how to start a fire in damp conditions and jungle first aid, as well as learning many fascinating traditional skills from your guides on how to survive using local resources.

We have several mountaineers in our team and it is entirely by design that we run so many mountain expeditions. We also pride ourselves on a summit success rate that is rare to find in our industry and stands at over 90% for the hundreds of adventurers who have trekked with us.

Borneo is the third largest island in the world and is located in Southeast Asia. It is comprised of the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, the sultanate kingdom of Brunei and the Indonesian province of Kalimantan. This multicultural island is home to an enormous diversity of exotic flora, fauna and natural beauty. The extensive rainforest ecosystem that covers most of the island is the oldest in the world and the island also boasts the highest mountain in Southeast Asia, the mighty Mount Kinabalu. The state of Sabah is a cultural melting pot with a bewildering multi-cultural and multi-religious aspect, yet everyone lives together in harmony. Sabah boasts no less than 32 indigenous ethnic entities, speaking as many languages and over 50 dialects. The main indigenous group are the Kadazan Dusun, living around Kota Kinabalu. Next are the Bajau who live along the coast and the Murut who live in the interior and were once famous intrepid warriors and reputedly the last to give up the ancient custom of headhunting!
