{"id":1884,"date":"2023-09-08T16:21:55","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T15:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.campsinternational.com\/?p=5268"},"modified":"2023-10-02T15:57:42","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T14:57:42","slug":"millies-fundraising-story-consistency-is-key","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.campsinternational.com\/aus\/millies-fundraising-story-consistency-is-key\/","title":{"rendered":"Millie&#8217;s Fundraising Story: Consistency is Key"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"c-content-block content-block content-section \"\n        >\n    <div class=\"container user-content container--small\">\n        <p>The Summer of 2024 brings with it an expedition to Borneo for Millie who has been inspired to embrace new cultures and work with the local communities as she contributes to our sustainable project work!\u00a0 Millie was keen to get stuck into her fundraising straight away but in her words was a little \u2018clueless\u2019 on how to start. \u00a0Taking time to think about a plan and using some ideas from a Camps International Fundraising Presentation, Millie is staying focused on her goal with a variety of fundraising activities from dog biscuits, quiz nights to maths tutoring to reach her target.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Dog treats and accessories<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Bobby and Bailey, two cheeky Lhasa brothers, were great ambassadors for Millie\u2019s fundraising activities. Make sure you find a good version that excludes this ingredient.<\/li>\n<li>Millie shopped at ALDI to help ensure she was sourcing her ingredients for the best possible price!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Millie has been using a variety of channels to sell her dog treats and has embraced various special events such as Christmas and the Coronation to maximise sales. Tickets were sold for $28, and the venue took $9.50 for the cost of the food. The event made $1140 between them.<\/p>\n<p><u>Zumbathon<br \/>\n<\/u>Millie and her friends danced away to raise another $230 towards their expedition to Borneo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Millie\u2019s Top Tip: <\/strong>Start advertising early to get more people to join in.<\/p>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"c-quote quote content-section\"\n        >\n    <div class=\"container container--small\">\n        <blockquote class=\"blockquote\">\n            <p>Don\u2019t worry about choosing one thing when fundraising. You will 100% end up doing lots of small events and sales to reach your goal. It&#8217;s not about coming up with a revolutionary idea, as long as you are active and keen to fundraise, you will reach your goal!\u201d<\/p>\n\n                            <h6 class=\"u-small-title u-text-golden-poppy title\">\n                    Great Advice from Millie\n                <\/h6>\n                    <\/blockquote>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"c-content-block content-block content-section \"\n        >\n    <div class=\"container user-content container--small\">\n        <p>Millie provided us with a full list of events and activities that she has been doing. We hope this gives you more <strong>inspiration<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Regular car-washing for family and friends &#8211; $628<\/li>\n<li>Car boot sales &#8211; $495<\/li>\n<li>Quiz night including raffle &#8211; $738 (between the 6 girls on the expedition team)<\/li>\n<li>Cake sales at football matches &#8211; $325<\/li>\n<li>Gained sponsorship &#8211; $1094<\/li>\n<li>Made and sold dog biscuits &#8211; $905<\/li>\n<li>Made dog bandanas and bows &#8211; $523 (made a lot for Coronation bows and bandanas)<\/li>\n<li>Sold items at Christmas fayres &#8211; $84<\/li>\n<li>Odd jobs for grandparents etc &#8211; $222<\/li>\n<li>Tutoring younger children in Maths &#8211; $75<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Challenges<\/h3>\n<p>We all know that organising events can present challenges and it\u2019s how we address these that counts.\u00a0 Millie found the hardest month to raise funds was in January.\u00a0 Her top piece of advice is to make the most of Christmas sales and use January to do activities such as car washing and car boot sales.<\/p>\n<h3>Millie is looking forward to&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>Millie is looking forward to opening her eyes to different lifestyles and stepping into a different culture. She is also very excited about learning to scuba diving!<\/p>\n<p>From everyone at Camps, a huge shout out to Millie for her wonderful fundraising efforts so far and here\u2019s to your countdown as
