Camps International – we do great stuff!

In a nutshell, we provide expedition opportunities for high schools through our experiential high school travel programmes in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The “Camps Effect” is the impact that our expeditions have on those who travel with us as well as the impact that our community and conservation projects have on people and the planet. It’s at the core of all that we do and no surprise that our crew tells us that this makes for a much happier Monday morning feeling!

So – what does the role look like?

Join a team that’s changing lives through ethical, educational travel. As an Operations Coordinator, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in helping young people prepare for unforgettable overseas expeditions.

You are the key contact for your assigned high schools, offering seamless service from initial contact through to expedition completion. Your work helps maintain strong relationships and keeps everything running smoothly — making sure teachers, students, and parents feel confident, informed, and excited every step of the way.

This is a fast-paced, people-focused role that needs someone who thrives on organisation, loves to problem-solve, and can juggle lots of moving parts without breaking a sweat.

  • Acting as the main point of contact for your assigned high schools, from sign-up through to their return
  • Providing prompt and friendly support including fundraising assistance, chasing payments, and helping with key prep like medical documentation
  • Deliver webinars such as Responsible Traveller Training, Fundraising Support, and Pre-Departure Meetings
  • Recruiting and supporting our amazing Expedition Leaders
  • Respond to enquiries and manage communications to ensure all client needs are met with professionalism and care
  • Preparing all trip resources including Teacher and Leader packs and online content
  • Keep an internal database fully up to date, with excellent attention to detail
  • Managing expedition kits — including medical supplies and other equipment
  • Supporting communication between the regional office and our overseas staff, including collating daily reports
  • Provide operational support to local teams pre, during and post team’s travel
  • Hold the Emergency Phone during out-of-office hours (on a rota), ensuring 24/7 support for in-country teams
  • Helping with post-expedition review and improvement processes such as debriefs, traveller feedback and Post Expedition Reports
  • Managing, attending and supporting in-person teacher and leader training events, which may include some travel and overnight stays over weekends

What We’re Looking For:

  • An upbeat, solutions-focused people-person
  • Strong team spirit and collaboration
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Ability to build rapport over the phone and in-person
  • Super organised and always on top of details and deadlines
  • Able to work independently and manage your own time
  • Confident juggling multiple projects and priorities
  • A team player who’s happy to jump in and support others
  • Self-driven and focused with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Experience in student travel, outdoor education or high schools is a big plus!

If you love the idea of helping students become global citizens — and want to be part of a passionate, purpose-led team — we’d love to hear from you.
