Day Activities More details
Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu Arriving in Nepal’s chaotic and charming capital city, Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for an expedition briefing. After introductions, you’ll head out to dine at a local restaurant, before getting a good night’s sleep.
Day 2 White water rafting Today after breakfast we will drive to Kurintar, leaving the Kathmandu Valley behind us. We will spend some exhilarating time white water rafting on the Trisuli River surrounded by impressive gorges. After the Rafting we will then drive to Pokhara for dinner and overnight stay
Day 3 Punhill trekking expedition Today our Poon Hill trekking expedition starts. We will drive to Nayapul and start the 4-hour trek to 1525m. During the trek we will pass through sub-tropical valley forests, sometimes hike on the carved trail on the side of the cliff. After lunch, we will cross the Modi Khola (river) via a suspension bridge to the village of Tikhedhunga, where we will spend the night in a tea house lodge.
Day 4 Trek to Ghorepan Today we will physically challenge ourselves as we start our trek with a steep climb to Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070m above sea level. The trail continues to ascend more gently, through Pine forests of oak and rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2250m. On the way, will have lunch and then again trek towards Nangethanti at 2460m. Finally, will reach to Ghorepani at 2775m, where we will spend the night in a tea house lodge. The trek will take approx. 7 hours
Day 5 Summit Punhill (3180M) and trek to Tadapani. Today we continue our trek for 4-5 hours (1950m) to Ghandrung a Ghandruk village which is listed as a World Heritage site. Here you can visit the handicraft centre and Gurung museum and admire the panoramic view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s rest in a tea house lodge.
Day 6 Trek to Ghandrung Today we continue our trek for 4-5 hours (1950m) to Ghandrung a Ghandruk village which is listed as a World Heritage site. Here ou can visit the handicraft centre and Gurung museum and admire the panoramic view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s rest in a tea house lodge.
Day 7 Trek to Nayapul Enjoy the last day of trekking down to Syauli bazar, Birethati and Nayapul. From Nayapul we will drive to Pokhara where you will stay the night.
Day 8 Transfer to Kathmandu This morning, after breakfast at the hotel we will take a 6-hour scenic drive to to Kathmandu. Upon arriving at hotel in Kathmandu you can freshen up and enjoy a free afternoon around Thamel.
Day 9 Drive to Khopasi, hike to Balthali Today you will travel to Balthali. It will take an hour and half to two hours depending on traffic. After arriving at Khopasi we will hike to Balthali another hour and half. Once we reach to Balthali, we will check the camp site where we will get an introductory briefing about the area. In the afternoon we will visit the site where we will be working at over the next 3days.
Day 10 – 12 Community project work Spending time with the local community is often a highlight of any trip and over the next few days you will be staying in the Balthali region. You will be working on community project work, learning about the Himalayan culture and importance of agriculture.
Day 13 Drive to Kathmandu and sightseeing. Today after breakfast we will hike back to Khopasi and drive to Kathmandu. In the afternoon you will enjoy some sightseeing taking in the Swayambhunath Stupa, one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal and one of the oldest (some 2000-year-old) Buddhist shrines in the world. Continue your sightseeing by visiting the Kathmandu Durbar Square, a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site before ending the evening with dinner and a Nepali traditional cultural show.
Day 14 Departure Depending on your flight times, you may have some free time to explore Kathmandu before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
