More details

Day 1 Arrive in Kenya and transfer to Camp Muhaka Transfer to Muhaka Camp, situated in the heart of a rural village from Moi Airport (2-3 hrs). After settling into your accommodation, you will be given a full briefing of the camp and the village. We have been working with this community for over 7 years so you will be welcomed warmly by the people who will be your family during your stay. Your orientation will include a walk in the village, meeting with different kind of families followed by a briefing where you will learn more about the current situation and challenges faced by the community. Spend the rest of the day interacting with the local children and learning more about their culture before tucking into a tasty dinner.
Day 2 Mama House Community Project Today, you will work within the community to help build or repair some homes for local mama’s and families. In the Muhaka region, there are many vulnerable families and elders whose homes have fallen into disrepair, so you will work alongside the local community to learn about traditional building techniques and work together to restore and build these homes.
Day 3 Transfer to Tsavo After saying farewell to the Muhaka team, you’ll take the 3-4 hour journey to Tsavo where you will spend 2 nights at a Safari Lodge. You’ll also have a chance to learn some simple Swahili phrases from the local community, and take part in a beading workshop.
Day 4 Tsavo East Safari Day and Meeting Masai After an early breakfast at camp, you will embark on your Big Game Safari in Tsavo East National Park – home to a variety of wildlife which includes lions, elephants, birds, zebra and giraffe to name a few. You’ll also have a chance to meet the Maasai, where you’ll learn about their traditions and ways of life.
Day 5 Departure Home Today, you’ll say your goodbyes to the Camp Kenya team as you transfer to the airport ready for your flight home.

I am truly honoured to have been working with Camps International for over 10 years, driving our travellers in my ‘Disco Truck’! I enjoy taking everyone safely to project sites and seeing how they are helping to change peoples lives. I love what I do!
