Day Activities More details
Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu Arriving in Nepal’s chaotic and charming capital city, Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for an expedition briefing. After introductions, you’ll head out to dine at a local restaurant, before getting a good nights sleep.
Day 2 Wall climbing/sightseeing at Monkey Temple Today you will be heading up to our wall climbing site and upon arrival, you will be divided into smaller groups. You will spend the day with a climbing instructor learning important wall climbing techniques such as belaying, climbing and abseiling along with much more. Wall climbing is a fantastic physical challenge that will help you develop valuable teamwork and communication skills. Once you have finished climbing, if there is time, you will visit the famous Monkey Temple.
Day 3 Mountain biking expedition Depending on everyone’s cycling capabilities, today’s 3-4 hour cycle ride will either begin at the hotel or we will drive to a cycling start point. You will cycle through the spectacular Kathmandu valley and learn about the technical side of mountain biking, along with the importance of planning and preparing for this type of expedition.
Day 4 Whitewater rafting and beach camping The morning will begin with a 3-hour bus ride through the Nepalese countryside to get to your white water rafting location. After a talk on safety and key points, you will kit up and begin rafting. The start point may vary, depending on the weather and current of the river on that day, however, you will soon be immersed in small rapids and will work your way up to the thrilling bigger ones. After travelling downstream you will arrive at the nights camping spot, for some dinner and a restful evening.
Day 5 Drive to Dhulikhel/hike to Balthali Today you will travel to Dhulikhel (by bus) where you will spend the day hiking through the stunning Himalayan countryside to Balthali. Throughout the hike, you will have the opportunity to learn about Himalayan culture along with the local communities lifestyles, as well as the wildlife and nature that surrounds the route you travel. There is a lot of ground to be covered over the course of the hike and you will be encouraged to keep one another motivate and to push your personal boundaries.
Days 6 Balthali community visit Spending time with the local community is often a highlight of any trip and today you will be visiting local schools in the Balthali region. You will have the chance to partake in activities such as teaching and playing games with the local children as well as some community service work. At the end of the day, there will be time for you to discuss and reflect on the visit to the school and village, drawing on and appreciating the comparisons between your own lives and those of local community.
Day 7 Hike to Khopasi / drive to Kathmandu Kick-starting the day with a final campsite breakfast, you will then hike to Khopasi, before returning by bus to Kathmandu. The evening will be at your leisure and gives you the chance to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
Day 8 Departure Depending on your flight times, you may have some free time to explore Kathmandu before transferring to the airport for your flight home.

It was a life changing experience. It taught me a lot of skills and it was different. I’m really glad I went. The group guiders were wonderful too.

Our local camp legends

Our camps are staffed by members of the community who will make you feel like a local in no time. These legends will make your expedition spectacular and will show you the very best of their home country.

Having worked with Camps International for over five years, I love seeing the change in our travellers when they come back from an expedition with us. It is amazing to see how they grow in self-confidence, empathy and have a greater understanding of the world around them and the adventures it holds for them.
