More details

Day 1 Arrive in Kenya and Transfer to Camp Tsavo When you land, you’ll be greeted at the airport by our friendly Camp Kenya crew, who will accompany you to your first camp. Once you arrive, you can take in the amazing views over Marungu Hills and start getting used to peaceful village life before settling down for a good night’s sleep.
Day 2-4 Community Service Learning Project Your adventures will start with a camp orientation and village tour, followed by a briefing with our project leaders. You will visit project sites, learn about the challenges local communities face, and set goals. Your contributions will improve the infrastructure at the local school. Enjoy getting to know the local students as you play games and sing songs. Evenings are a chance to relax over dinner and reflect on your days’ work.
Day 5 Tumani Women’s Group Today, you’ll spend time with an inspiring women’s group we’ve partnered with for many years. You’ll learn about the challenges faced by women in rural communities and explore projects that promote income generation and independence. Try your hand at making bead crafts, join a workshop that turns elephant dung into paper, and support the community with livestock care such as de-worming goats.
Day 6 Wildlife Conservation Project Today, you will work with local people to help make elephant deterrent fences (the method regarded by locals as the best way to deter elephants from their farms without harming the animals). You’ll also participate in an educational environmental workshop, making paper out of elephant dung to bring a source of income to the local community. In the afternoon, you’ll get to visit the world-famous Maasai tribe and learn about their unique culture and traditions.
Day 7 Full Day Safari After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on an unforgettable safari in Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s premier wildlife destinations. Keep watch for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more roaming the savannah.
Day 8 Transfer to Camp Muhaka Travel to your next camp and settle into your accommodations before receiving a camp and village briefing. We’ve been working with this community for several years, and you’ll be warmly welcomed by families who will host you during your stay. Being in the heart of the village with the project sites only a short walk away, you’ll be a local in no time!
Day 9 – 11 Community & School Service Learning Project The next few days are all about getting your hands dirty and working on community-led projects. You’ll work alongside our locally employed craftsmen, helping to renovate or even build a new home for a community member. You may also work to improve the infrastructure of the school. Muhaka village remains one of the poorest communities in the local area and each project is guided by their current needs, ensuring that your contribution leaves a lasting impact on the community that has welcomed you.
Day 12 Marine Conservation Program This morning you will head to the beautiful white sandy beaches of Diani to get involved in a beach clean-up. You will learn how to turn discarded flipflops into recycled keyrings at our Marine Conservation Workshop. This program encourages discussion about marine wildlife and habitats, sustainability, waste management, and the importance of protecting oceans around the world. As the evening draws in, you’ll have time to relax on the beach, then you will head back to camp for dinner.
Day 13 Snorkeling and Dolphin Excursion Set sail on the crystal-clear waters of Kenya’s south coast for an unforgettable marine adventure. The Pili Pipa Dolphin Excursion offers the chance to spot playful dolphins in their natural habitat, snorkel among vibrant coral reefs, and explore the stunning waters of the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park. Relax aboard a traditional dhow, enjoy breathtaking ocean scenery, and savour a delicious lunch on Wasini Island. A perfect blend of wildlife, culture, and coastal beauty.
Day 14 Departure Kwaheri means “goodbye” in Swahili. Today, we’ll say our final farewells before transferring you to the airport for your journey home.

How you’ll make a difference

Kenya – School improvements and conservation work

You’ll help to build or renovate school buildings so that local children have a clean and safe academic environment. You’ll also get involved in initiatives to promote a peaceful co-existence between the community and the local wildlife, such as improving natural waterholes and planting indigenous trees for habitat and food sources.
