Camps International Group Privacy Policy

Who We Are 

Camps International Group Limited is committed to protecting the personal data of information of all those associated with us.    Camps International Group Limited includes all our affiliated entities which are Camps International Middle East, Camps International Australia and Camps International USA.

Camps International is owned by Impact Travel Group (ITG). When you make a booking, you are entering into an agreement with Camps International Group Limited (CI), which is a company owned by Impact Travel Group (ITG). While Camps International Group Limited is responsible for managing your personal information, staff from both CI and ITG may access and process your information where necessary to provide services, support bookings, or manage our relationship with you.

How We Use Your Information

We may share your information within our corporate group to ensure that we can fulfil your booking, provide customer service, manage our business operations, and comply with our legal obligations. This means that employees of both CI and ITG may have access to your personal information as part of their job duties. 

We may share personal information with other brands within the ITG group for marketing purposes but only where we have the express permission of the individual to do so. We do not routinely share data. 

Data Sharing and Access 

Your personal information is only accessible to staff who need it to carry out their responsibilities. This includes employees involved in booking administration, customer service, finance, IT support, and legal compliance. All staff are trained in data protection and bound by confidentiality obligations.  

Camps International is affiliated with World Strides, we do not share personal information with them. However, where we have your permission, we may share media (photos & video) that they may include in their marketing materials. Further information on image sharing is detailed further on in this policy.   

Camps International & Your Personal Information 

We will only collect the personal information required to fulfil our obligations to you and will only use it for the reasons specified when collected. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Camps International does not disclose personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. In order to deliver the expedition, we will share the relevant aspects of your personal information with third parties (e.g.flight providers, hotels, dive companies etc) necessary to provide that specific aspect of your expedition.   

We may take images of you during your expedition (you can opt out of this by notifying us) these images may be used for marketing purposes by Camps International, brands within the Impact Travel Group or by World Strides US & Canada.   

We collect certain sensitive personal information (such as medical or dietary information) solely for the purpose of ensuring participant health and safety during travel. This information is not used for marketing purposes and is shared only where required to deliver expedition services.

Children’s Privacy 

Camps International does not knowingly collect, maintain, or process personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that such information has been inadvertently collected, we will promptly delete it.    

What personal information do we collect? 

The information we collect will depend on our interactions and relationship with you. At each point of collection, we will explain the purpose for which your data will be used. 
Typically, this includes; name, date of birth, address, contact details, gender, passport information, dietary and medical informationtravel preferencesprevious travel experience or enquiries.   

How we collect personal information?

We collect personal data when you provide it to us throughonlineenquiries, direct emails, social media, online chat, over the phone, at presentations, or during the sign-up process for an expedition.   

U.S. Privacy Rights 

While Camps International is not currently subject to any specific state privacy law such as the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), we have chosen to align many of our practices with leading U.S. privacy standards.
Accordingly, we allow U.S. residents to:
• Request access to the personal information we hold about them;
• Request correction or deletion of their information;
• Opt out of receiving marketing communications or data sharing for targeted advertising.
 

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws. To exercise these rights, please contact us at dpo@campsinternational.com. We will verify and respond to all privacy-related requests in a timely manner. 

Cookies and Online Tracking 

Cookies may be used to record information about your online preferences and allow us to identify you as you travel around our site. Users can set their devices to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at any time. Some personalized features may not be available if cookies are disabled. C Some cookies placed by third-party providers such as Google and Meta may involve the sharing of data for cross-context behavioural advertising. While Camps International does not sell or share personal data for profit, U.S. residents can opt out of such sharing through browser settings

Our marketing practices   

If you consent to receive marketing emails you will be able to ‘opt out’ at any time by updating your privacy preference. Our marketing emails will also have the option to unsubscribe if you wish to do so.   

We will only ever send information about travel and job opportunities with ourselves or of partner companies within theImpact Travel Group, updates on our projects or the work of theCamps Foundation. 

We do not buy personal data and we do not sell or share any personal data collected for marketing purposes.   

Lead Generation 

In accordance with our legitimate business interests under applicable U.S. privacy principles, we collect personal details of individuals reasonably assumed to be interested in our expeditions: ; 

  • Publicly available sources such as company or school websites 
  • Social Media Platforms   
  • Direct contact with school staff to verify or obtain correct contact details   
  • Conversations with individuals at events, networking opportunities and outreach efforts 

We only collect the minimum of personal data necessary including; 

  • Full name 
  • Job title and role 
  • Email address 
  • Phone number 
  • Name of school or organisation 

We do not share this data and do not use it for any other purpose than offering potential travel opportunities. Individuals can opt out at any time by contacting us.
