We never sell your personal data and will not pass your data onto third parties unconnected to the delivery of your expedition.  In order to deliver the expedition for which you have sign up we will share the relevant aspects of your personal data with third parties (e.g flight providers, hotels, dive companies etc) in order for them to provide that specific aspect of your expedition. 

What personal information do we collect? 

The information we collect will depend on our interactions and relationship with you. At each point that we collect personal data we will provide information on the purpose for which we will use that data. 

Typically, the data we collect includes; name, date of birth, address, contact details, gender, passport information, dietary and medical information.  We may also collect information on your travel preference, previous travel experience or enquiries. 

How we collect personal data 

We collect personal data when you provide it to us through on line enquiries, direct emails, via social media, via our online ‘chat’, information provided over the phone, at presentations, and through the sign-up process when you book a trip. 

Our website and cookies 

Cookies may be used to record information about your online preferences and allow us to identify you as you travel around our site, which enables us to track what pages you have looked at. How we use your personal data 

We only hold and use your personal data for the purpose for which it has been supplied, in order for us to fulfil your requests, provide the expedition you have booked or manage your experience when using our website. 

If you have booked a trip with us, we will use your personal data for the purpose of delivering the contract under which you have booked. This will include sharing your personal data with our local offices in our destination countries and with relevant third parties that will deliver or support all or part of your expedition. This could include but is not limited to; your school (if you are travelling on a School Expedition), flight providers, hotels, travel insurance providers, emergency assistance providers, dive providers etc. We will only ever share the relevant information each third party requires in order to deliver the service they have been contracted to provide. 

If you make an enquiry regarding an expedition with us we will use your personal data to provide further information relating to your enquiry or to invite you to presentations/meetings regarding the expedition to which you have expressed an interest. We will make clear the purpose for which we will use your personal data at the point we collect it.  We will always give you the option to ‘opt out’ or unsubscribe from receiving further communications at any stage.  

With whom we share your personal information 

We do not share your personal data with anyone unconnected to the delivery of our expeditions. We do not sell or trade personal data. We will only ever share personal data with third parties and overseas suppliers where it is necessary for them to deliver or support a specific aspect of your expedition, we will only ever share the relevant information they require. 

Our marketing practices 

If you consent to receive marketing emails you will be able to ‘opt out’ at any time by updating your privacy preference.  Our marketing emails will also have the option to unsubscribe if you wish to do so. 

We will only ever send information about travel opportunities, updates on our projects or the work of the Camps Foundation. 

We do not buy personal data and we do not sell or share any personal data collected for marketing purposes. 

Our retention policy 

We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to deliver on the purpose for which the data was collected. This could be fulfilling our contractual obligations in delivering the expedition to which you have booked, communications regarding travel opportunities for which you expressed an interest or to comply with legal, accounting, tax, and reporting purposes. Once data is no longer required to be held it will be deleted.
