In the great Canadian outdoors, you will have the chance to challenge yourself and learn awesome skills. You’ll stay in cabins during your trip while you practise your canoeing skills, tackle the climbing wall and navigate the High Ropes Course. Think about the stories you’ll tell – paddling through stunning scenery, building your own shelter, and learning how to start a fire like a pro.

A fully supported expedition, from start to finish

Your expedition cost covers the incredible activities you’ll be taking part in, as well as the extensive support you’ll receive in the lead up to, and during, your expedition.

Don’t forget you’ll also need your vaccinations*, visas*, kit and some spending money. Do not worry, you will receive expert guidance on all of these once you sign up.

Day Activities More details
Day 1 Arrive Toronto Once you have arrived at Toronto you’ll be met at the airport for your 3 hour bus transfer to Haliburton Country before arriving to Wilderness Base and settling into your cabin. After a site orientation, enjoy a snack while sitting around the campfire.
Day 2 Team Building Activities After breakfast, take part in team building activities before taking part in a series of activities such as learning about heat loss and layering, a paddling and rescue demonstration and stove use and tent set up. After lunch you will learn the art of paddling before heading off on your canoes in teams. Your instructor will be with you throughout the Haliburton Highlands Water Trails as you master your canoeing skills before arriving at your overnight campsite in time to setup and prepare dinner
Day 3 Canoe Trip Today you will go on an excursion, paddling to a second camp site where you will stop for lunch and learn some bushcraft skills before paddling back to your main camp. The canoe trip will aim to engage students in outdoor skill development, group leadership, participation, initiative, and resilience. Students will be hands-on in the daily tasks related to camping, individual self-care, and positive group influence. As evening descends, gather for dinner, sit around the campfire, with smores and hot chocolate. End the evening with guided reflection about your day filled with adventure and connection
Day 4 Canoeing back to base After breakfast you will break camp and set out to paddle back to Wilderness Base in time for lunch. After lunch there will be a final group reflection session before transferring back to Toronto for a final night in a hotel.
Day 5 Departure After breakfast you will transfer by bus to the airport for your flight home.
