Day Activities More details
Day 1 – 2 Flight and Arrival Zambia Take an overnight flight to Zambia. Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you’ll be transferred to your backpacker’s accommodation. In the afternoon, you will visit the Irish embassy before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3 Transfer to Livingstone Today you will transfer to Livingstone, located only 7 km from the iconic Victoria Falls that borders Zambia and Zimbabwe, by coach (8 hours). Settle into your accommodation before your welcome dinner and project orientation.
Day 4-6 Girl Impact Initiative Over the next three days you’ll contribute to the Girl Impact Initiative (Women’s empowerment programme) — which was set up to support and educate young girls to help them make better-informed decisions as they move towards womanhood. Throughout your time on the project, you will assist with educational workshops and encourage income-generating activities, have the chance to engage with young girls from across Africa and discuss female empowerment concepts and gender issues.
Day 7 Safari and Victoria Falls After breakfast you will embark on your game safari in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for potential wildlife sightings of rhino, elephant, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, hippo, and crocodile against the beautiful backdrop of the Zambezi River. In the afternoon you will get to see one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls. The falls measure 1-mile (1.7 km) across and have a height of 360 feet (108 m) creating the largest single waterfall in the water, which makes for an impressive sight.
Day 8 Departure Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home.
